The 2013 Jinju Silk Fair invites you to all you need to know about the silk industry of Jinju.
The 2013 Jinju Silk Fair was held from 10am to 10pm everyday for 13 days beginning on the 1st of October.
The opening ceremony on the 2nd of October saw as many as 300 attendees including the mayor of Jinju, Lee Chang-hee, and heads of respective organizations and officials of silk industry.
The fair took place on the Namgang Riverside under 3-center concept of Business, Public Relations, and Experience Center.
The Business Center displayed the locally manufactured muffler neckties and award-winning products of the 2013 Silk Design Competition, showing the present and future of Jinju silk.
Due to the quality water of the Namgang River, Jinju has been home of silk products for as long as one can remember.
80% of nationwide silk products has been processed right here in Jinju and it is one of the top 5 silk cities in the world.
The ever growing fame of the Namgang Yudeung Festival has surely played a key role in Jinju's regaining of its silk reputation.
In search of a new market and revitalizing its silk industry, the 2013 Jinju Silk Fair was spinning out silky smooth memories for all of its visitors.
