Samsung Heavy Industries Upbeat After Winning KRW 477.8 Billion Oil Tanker Order, Achieving 22% of Annual Target(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Samsung Heavy Industries has secured an order worth KRW 477.8 billion for four crude oil tankers from a shipowner based in the Oceania region.
With this latest deal, the company’s total order intake for the year has reached $2.2 billion, marking 22% of its annual order target of $9.8 billion set earlier this year. The milestone has fueled optimism for stronger performance in the upcoming quarters.
A Samsung Heavy Industries official stated, “Having achieved 22% of our annual goal in the first quarter, we will continue striving for even better results throughout the remainder of the year. We also plan to diversify our portfolio with various vessel types, including LNG carriers, shuttle tankers, ethane carriers, and container ships.”
The newly ordered tankers are scheduled for phased delivery to the client by December 2028. So far this year, the company has secured orders for a total of 16 vessels: 1 LNG carrier, 9 shuttle tankers, 2 ethane carriers, and 4 crude oil tankers.
