(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = LG Electronics Strengthens Leadership in Ultra-Premium Laundry Appliance Market in the U.S.
LG Electronics has recently begun supplying its ‘LG SIGNATURE 29-inch washer and dryer’ products to Lowe’s, one of the leading home appliance retailers in the United States.
These appliances boast the largest capacity among household front-load washers and dryers available in the U.S. LG plans to continue expanding its lineup of large-capacity laundry appliances in the U.S. market. The new washer features over 10% more capacity compared to the company’s previous model and can be combined with a mini washer, ideal for separating delicate garments, underwear, or baby clothes.
Despite the increased capacity, the depth of the product has been reduced by more than 5% compared to the previous model. Designed with typical U.S. home layouts in mind, the appliance maintains a depth of about 31 inches, making it convenient for installation and use in in-home laundry rooms.
A key advantage is LG’s integration of its core component technology with AI, referred to as AI CoreTech, which enhances the convenience and precision of washing and drying performance. Utilizing AI DD motors and AI sensor drying functions, the appliances analyze load weight, fabric type, and pollution levels to apply optimized washing and drying patterns to minimize fabric damage.
Additionally, detergent and fabric softener are automatically dispensed based on load size and pollution level for user convenience.
Convenient smart features are also supported through LG’s AI home platform, LG ThinQ. This includes ThinQ UP, which continuously upgrades existing appliances with new AI features, as well as ThinQ Care and Smart Pairing functionalities.
Furthermore, the two companies plan to develop a new business model that combines content and commerce, targeting major markets such as the U.S. and the U.K., where CTV (Connected TV) commerce is rapidly growing.
