(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Hanwha Systems announced on the 4th that it will supply a fire control system for 180 K2 tanks, which it signed an export contract with Poland in August last year.

The contract size is approximately 257.4 billion won.

The K2 tanks exported to Poland are divided into the first project, which is an urgent supply of tanks with the same specifications as the ones currently deployed in Korea, and the second project, which is an improved supply with Poland’s desired specifications. This export contract falls under the first project.

The fire control system, called the brain of the tank, consists of a fire control computer, gunner and tank commander sights, display equipment, control panel, thermal periscope, and laser warning device.

In particular, the fire control computer works with peripheral devices inside the turret
to perform ▲gun, turret, and sight control ▲ballistic calculation ▲automatic tracking functions etc., to control the firepower system and improve the survivability of the tank through quick response to various missiles.

Hanwha Systems plans to develop the fire control system applied to tanks and armored vehicles for domestic and export use into a GVA-based integrated battlefield system(IVS) in the future.
