Loan Default Rate of Banks in late July is 0.22%, up 0.02%p

(서울=NSP통신) eunyoung Huh Journal = Domestic banks’ default rate on the Korean won loan in late July was reported to be 0.22%, up 0.02%p from the previous month.

According to the 『Current Status of the Domestic Banks’ Default Rate on the Korean Won Loan as of late-July 2022』 reported by the Financial Supervisory Service on 22nd, the new accrued default amount in July was KRW 900 billion won, similar to that of the previous month. On the other hand, the settlement amount of overdue bond was KRW 500 billion, which is KRW 1.1 trillion smaller compared to the previous month.

By sectors, the loan default rate of corporations was recorded as 0.24%, increased 0.02%p from the previous month, among which that of small and medium-sized enterprises increased 0.03%p.


The default rate on loans for households rose by 0.01%p, reaching 0.19%, among which the housing mortgage default rate was 0.11% after a 0.01%p increase from the previous month. Otherwise, other loan default rate of households, including credit loan, was 0.34%, which is 0.03%p higher than the previous month.
