(Seoul=NSP News Agency) jonghyuk Kim Journalist = SK holdings on 24 Nov. announced they decided to spend 486.1 billion won to buy 49.1% stocks of OCI Materials is holding in a board meeting on 23.

OCI Materials produces the Nitron Fluorine three (NF3) gas which is a necessary element of manufacturing semiconductors and displays.

Since 2005 OCI has acquired, OCI Materials has been growing to become the 1st largest market share. The cumulative sales this year reaches 241.1 billion won, and operating profit records 76.6 billion won. SK plans to regularize semiconductor material business through this acquirement.

“We are planning to expand related business actively through corporation with global companies and entering foreign market include China.” the official of SK said.

Meanwhile, the official of OCI commented “This selling OCI materials is for pursuit of the growth and the profitability of the core industries - solar energy, ESS(Energy Storage System) and Chemical Material at once.”
