Nexon Aims for Annual Revenue of KRW 7 Trillion by 2027 with IP Expansion

(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Jeongheon Lee, CEO of Nexon Japan, unveiled the company's ambitious goal of achieving 750 billion yen in revenue and 250 billion yen in operating profit by 2027 during the"1st Capital Market Briefing 2024"held on the 3rd.

To reach this target, Lee emphasized a strategy that involves vertical growth enhancing the performance of existing intellectual properties (IPs) and horizontal expansion developing next-generation IPs. “We will strive to own more IP franchises,” Lee explained.

Nexon has consistently released popular IPs, including The Kingdom of the Winds, the world’s first commercially available online MMORPG, along with Dungeon & Fighter, MapleStory, KartRider, Mabinogi, and FIFA Online.

Lee also pointed out that both revenue and operating profit for this year are on track to reach record highs, adding, “Since going public, our market capitalization has increased fourfold.”

Looking ahead, Nexon plans to intensify its focus on live services for blockbuster IPs, which currently represent a substantial portion of its portfolio. Lee stated, “In the next three years, the most prominent projects will be new releases based on our existing blockbuster IPs.”

In addition, Nexon also introduced a new shareholder return policy aimed at enhancing shareholder value. The company has set a target return on equity (ROE) as 10% in minimum and 15% at maximum and plans to return over 33% of its operating profit to shareholders, compared to the previous year. Nexon intends to distribute a semi-annual dividend of 15 yen per share in the second half of 2024.
