(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = SM LNS (CEO Lim Seung-mo) has unveiled a microcurrent electric toothbrush, which effectively alleviates inflammation of teeth and gums and removes plaque in hard-to-reach areas after years of research.
CEO Lim Seung-mo stated,"The Etee toothbrush, born with a combination method that allows the simultaneous delivery of microcurrent signals and water droplet vibrations, aims to set a new standard for electric toothbrushes,"adding,"We will continue to conduct research and development in various fields based on this technology."
The hybrid toothbrush 'Etee' utilizes SM LNS's core technology, 'EM Wave,' to generate 'semiconductor microcurrent electromagnetic waves' that effectively remove biofilms, which cause inflammation of the gums and plaque on the teeth. Clinical trials conducted on the general population showed that the microcurrent toothbrush demonstrated about six times better plaque improvement effects compared to regular toothbrushes, and over 50% improvement in gum inflammation. Additionally, it has been proven to be superior in plaque removal, preventing tartar buildup, and alleviating bad breath compared to conventional toothbrushes. Further clinical trials for specific breath-freshening effects are currently underway at renowned university hospitals.
Biofilms are widely known as the main culprits behind inflammation in teeth and gums. Currently, the only solution to remove biofilms is through dental procedures.
However, using Etee reveals another powerful effect. The microcurrents sent throughout the oral cavity by Etee can achieve the same effect as brushing unreachable areas with a toothbrush. It also demonstrates excellent results in reducing inflammation in the oral cavity.
Furthermore, SM LNS's developed EM Wave is an application that takes advantage of the fact that biofilms have reduced adhesiveness, binding force, and linkages when exposed to changes in specific electromagnetic fields. This enables effective dental and breath management.
SM LNS has filed 12 patents related to microcurrents for the release of the Etee toothbrush and is currently in the registration process.
