(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = Naju Pear, a world-famous specialty, is on its way to the first export this year.

The Naju pear varieties, which survived the record heat this summer are on the road of export for the first time this year, and shipped in a total amount of 400 tons with a large fruit flavor and sweet taste, called ‘Won Hwang’

By 2019, the city will focus on new markets such as the US, Vietnam, Taiwan, Latin America and Europe, and plan achieve the export target of 4,000 tons of Naju Pear this year.

The city will promote various projects and administrative support such as export specialization area, support for export packing materials, promotion of overseas markets, export logistics, difference payment, etc. to in order to revitalize Naju Pear exports and open up new markets.

Kang In-gyu, the Mayor of Naju City said,"We are grateful for the efforts of the workers who are pouring sweats in the selection process for exporting delicious and high quality Naju pears even in the hot weather. We will continue to develop new markets and expand exports to secure the Naju Pears and will contribute to price stabilization and increase farm income".
