StarCraft: Remastered Double Billed at Internet Cafes, IPCA reported to Fair Trade Commission

NSP NEWS AGENCY, By YEON SUN HAN Journal, 2017-08-03 18:04 END7

(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = Whilst Blizzard Entertainment’s game StarCraft: Remastered is preparing for its release date, double-billing problem is also emerging.

StarCraft: Remastered, which is due to be released in August 15th, has been pre-launched in Korea’s Internet Cafes after the event held in Busan. However, Internet Cafe owners and the IPCA (Internet PC Culture Association) are continuing to fight against Blizzard Entertainment for billing Korean Internet Cafes

The IPCA pointed out that “StarCraft: Remastered is just StarCraft itself with better graphics. It is not a new game itself. Deducting fixed charge for individual users that play StarCraft: Remastered in Internet Cafes even if they bought Starcraft: Remastered is double selling and double charging.”

Blizzard Entertainment said, “We have nothing to say specifically about this issue.”

IPCA said that Blizzard Entertainment’s actions are clearly ‘power tripping’, and decided to file an official complaint to the Fair Trade Commission for their unfair business practices.

The Fair Trade Commission is planning to investigate whether Blizzard Entertainment has done unfair trades.
