(Seoul=NSP News Agency) Jiye Kim Journalist = CJ CheilJedang’s Bibigo Wang Gyoja which means Big Dumpling, has surpassed the cumulative sales of 1 trillion won last month, since its debut in December 2013. Ever since its appearance, the dumpling’s reputation has grown exponentially year by year. Wang Gyoja marked annual sales of 70 billion won only in this year, more than double the 30 billion won in 2014.
Bibigo Wang Gyoja’s sales average in this summer season from June to August marked 7 billion won, which is higher than January’s 5.7 billion won. Considering the record, the dumpling has become one of the best-selling items throughout the seasons.
CJ CheilJedang shows great determination to grow Bibigo Dumpling into a big food brand, worth more than 1trillion won. The company is anticipating to rake in some 10 billion won this month, aiming at 80 billion won annual sales record in 2015.
In order to bring the plan into reality, CJ will strengthen the marketing efforts, with new TV commercial featuring world star PSY.
