(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = Kakao partners with Alifish of Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group in China to accelerate Kakao Friends’ entry into China.

Kakao Friends is the first in Korea to sign a master licensing agreement with Alifish, and it will be delegated authority for product planning and development, distribution, and marketing related to IP.

Alifish is a subsidiary of Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group, which oversees IP businesses such as content and brands, and is expanding its influence to global markets, including IP licenses for Pokemon and Gundam in Japan.

With this licensing agreement, Alifish plans to distribute a variety of Kakao Friends’ products through its parent company, Alibaba's e-commerce platform such as Taobao, Tmall, and Ali Express, including the Kakao Friends’ IP license business in China.

In 2021, Kakao Friends’ Super IP Day and Wanghong Live are ahead, and it will participate in China’s three major music festivals, including the 6.18 Shopping Festival, National Day, and Gwanggun Festival.
